Jody and I [Bill] have owned the Big Bear Cody motels more then a few years now and have really enjoyed the families and individuals whom we have met. Big  Bear is a family owned and operated facility, Mom and Pop, on almost 4 acres with horses right on the premises. All 42 rooms are air conditioned, as well as having cable television, full private bath/showers in every room. We also have other vacation rentals that fit just about all your needs; Big Bear Ranch with stables and Big Bear Town homes. All Cody motel rooms are at parking level with no stairs at all. We have parking for the largest of vehicles that pass through, and boarding facilities for your horses. There is also free high speed wireless internet. Often entertainers put on a western activities show. We are sorry to announce that Helen has passed 4/10/09.   We have pony rides as well as Western and English riding lessons available; Jody (Holly) has been a professional riding instructor for 15+ years.   Big Bear Recession Tips

1. Stay at mom and pop lodging facilities, franchised lodging companies pay 10% to 40% of gross room cost.

2. Book direct agents that use lure tactics add the average of 20% per room call the lodge direct.

3. Ask about family values, E.G. Suites or home rentals larger groups that stay together great better deals.

4. You can check on some simple things on your car for better gas consumption. Check the air pressure in your tires, install a new air cleaner, Walmart sells most models, and easy to do your self.

5. Pack less, drive the smaller car, and do the laundry on the road less weight better gas consumption, also its easier to deal with smaller luggage.
